**What You Get:** 1.5" × .25" flat bar with countersunk installation holes, welded horizontally to the top and bottom of your artwork, + vertical 1.5" x .25" thick steel tabs at all four corners. Your mounting tabs secure to the ends, featuring pre-drilled 3/8" holes for lag bolts or direct fastening to posts, walls, or support structures. INCLUDES LABOR AND MATERIALS AS DESCRIBED ABOVE 1 UNIT=1 FOOT WIDTH OF PRODUCT, ROUND UP TO NEAREST FOOT.

The benefits of the Flat bar installation are that it can accommodate the removal and replacement of existing wood spindles, covering the former holes made by the spindles and keeping the remaining hand and foot railing, typically wood. This installation is also convenient for those who want to add only a wood handrail to the top of the railing art. This is not necessary for code, but many still want a wood tie inside the home.

What You Get:

  • .25" thick tabs welded at all four corners.

  • Pre-drilled 3/8" holes in tabs for lag bolts or direct fastening to posts, walls, or support structures.

Height Considerations:

  • Flat-bar adds 1/2" height to your artwork's vertical height dimension. This is why adding 2" height handrail works out to meet a minimum height requirement of 36". Ave size height NatureRails is 30 + 1/2" flat-bar materials + 4" base gap, means your still needing to add minimum of 1.5" tall wood to install at 36" height.
  • Installation tabs add 3", only at the tab area. (USBC height requirement for handrails.)

 * Position & Mark: Set your artwork in place. Use our pre-welded tabs as your guide to mark exact hole locations.
 * Pre-Drill: Move the unit aside and drill pilot holes to ensure a perfect, splinter-free fit.
 * Secure & Enjoy: Set the rail back in place and drive in the provided hardware through the tabs.
 Installation Tip: Make sure your allow for a minimum of 36" install height (or higher in some locations) has a maximum of 4' base gap.
